I love this place! I'm shocked by the bad reviews. The food I had-steak, was delicious, variety of drinks were great, and the atmosphere is fun and relaxing. It is on the beach after all! On certain nights they have live bands or a dj. I enjoy sitting at the outside bar while I stare at the ocean. They have valet but it isn't a stuck up type of place. It's pretty casual and overall a good time. Maybe I like it so much because we don't have many ocean front restuarants in my neck of the woods?? Who knows? But I enjoyed it and will continue to visit when I'm in Florida.

Good breakfast, with a fantastic view from the porch, attentive wait staff. Eat outside!

Calamari appetizer, monster mojito, lobster and shrimp salad, key lime pie...beautiful oceanside table, gentle breeze, attentive service, reasonable valet parking. ..what's not to like about this place!? We'll be back!

Completely run of the mill beachfront restaurant. Food is extremely average and there really isn't anything to write home about. The shrimp cocktail will run you about $12-13 and they are miniature shrimp, like the kind you'd find in shrimp lo mein. Not cleaned or washed shrimp, at least not mine. I'd rather settle on 4 respectable size shrimps than what they currently provide you, which by the way, looks like it was a Winn-Dixie special. Pricey items but you're paying for the atmosphere. It's a shame there aren't many decent beachfront options anymore but I'd think twice before going here. Possibly the worst restaurant in Broward county and the wait staff delivers the food with the "god I feel bad for you" look on their face. Stay the hell away.

Textbook definition of a tourist trap. Its like a Wings beach store opened up a restaurant. If for some unfortunate reason you have a handcannon to your head and have to order get fried shrimp because you really cant mess that up, but other than that tell them to squeeze the trigger. The shrimp cocktail was a slap in the face to anyone who has a had remotely decent sized shrimp, they should be ashamed. I could've left my seat, jumped in the ocean and caught myself a better meal. The burger my friend had looked like it was a frozen patty along the lines of a bubbaburger, even a beach full of nude dimes couldnt have made this a pleasant eating experience. Do yourself a favor a go across the street to Flanigans and get far superior everything except for a view of the ocean. If your hell bent at looking at 6's and sun scorched alcoholics walking by the water go next door to Oceans which itself is overpriced and not great but has much better food. Hopefully during the next hurricane season a cat 5 will give this place a nice makeover, and maybe wash up some decent fish that you cant currently find here.

This restaurant is all view and nothing more. Yelp eliters Jason G, Nick A, and I brought a friend from NY here and ever since he has stopped talking to us. I wouldn't be surprised if its because we wasted his trip by bringing him here. I ordered a drink only because I had a feeling that the food would be overpriced and tasteless and was right. Two of my friends ordered the shrimp cocktail which had shrimps the size of ants. Smartly the restaurant puts the shrimp in a magnifying bowl to make the shrimp appear bigger than they really are. The cook must think he's David Copperfield creating illusions with that shrimp. Jason G ordered a burger and he tried his best to convince himself that it was good but based on his review he knows he F'd up.

No fresh fish from this seafood restaurant right on the beach. And the local beers? Well they did have one. But the service was the biggest disappointment. Maybe they feel that since they are in a highly trafficed area they can skimp on quality. It shows.

Great food & service. Nice ocean view and better brunch vibe with live tunes than the smancy neighbor up north that is $$! And boRing,)

I'm pleasantly surprised by the food and quality of service here. I really expected another banquet style, awful bar food, and pretend brunch menu kind of place from the outside, but I was really pleased. Our server on a large 20 person event held the whole group together great, managed all the orders, and kept a smile and some jokes going the whole time. I'd easily give him a 5 star rating. The food was average, not great but for the price and view it's really hard to complain. $15 for the most expensive entree and that INCLUDES a glass of champagne! Yes please!!! The Lobster Benedict is a let down, especially because the eggs were over poached and the lobster was clearly not fresh (trust me no matter what TRY to tell you... it wasn't.) The Huevos Rancheros as a complete dish was good, but the pork itself was far too fatty and far too scarce. The salsa verde however, it really saved the dish. With a little tightening up in the kitchen this place could really fine tune into a great location. Unfortunately they need to come WAY down on their drink prices. $17 for two shots of Jameson... Get the F*** outta heeeeerrreeee!

On my second such visit to JB's on the Beach, it was a Saturday night and we were all arriving at around 9 p.m. It was a group of eight folks, and we gathered around a table near the live music. The place was packed with people (30 to 40-year-old crowd) and the music was festive (1980s and 90s pop music). It was enjoyable. We ordered all types of drinks from the bar and service was pretty good ... and so were the drinks. We also ordered some appetizers (deep-fried breaded cheese and calamari). Both were tasty, but neither were noteworthy. I've been here before and I would recommend it. Good food during the day and a terrific view of the ocean. At night, solid entertainment and a good place to meet up with others. Like any other place, service may be compromised during busy periods of the day and week.

I love the laid back atmosphere at JB's. I have been here several times over the years. Yes I like the fresh seafood but I must be honest I mainly come for the band on a Sunday evening. They know how to turn up party and the Dj makes you want to get low low low low low*in my Flo-rida voice* lol

  • Rey D.

This place is awesome! I felt a little claustrophobic but then again we had a lot of people at our table. We went on Easter Sunday after church so it was pretty crowded. The atmosphere and scenery was great. There was a live band (though I didn't really like the music) but it was still entertaining. Our waiter was very nice and I do see myself going again. I recommend the calamari to anyone who enjoys good calamari and coconut shrimp. Overall, the food was pretty good...a little pricey but good. Con: no parking...you either have to park really far from the restaurant or do valet parking(fee). Dessert menu had very limited items.

This restaurant is in the touristy district of Deerfield Beach. Parking is valet or metered lot parking next door. Other reviewers were right about the service being slow, which we had some issues with the kitchen burning our meal that made the wait even longer, but all employees were friendly. We ordered dynamite scallops (on recommendation of the server), a caesar salad, grilled mahi mahi, sesame crusted yellow-fin tuna and an order of snow crab legs. We waited about 20 minutes from ordering our appetizers before a manager came to our table, with bread in tow, to apologise for the wait and that the kitchen had burned our scallops. Fifteen minutes later, we were brought our caesar salad (fresh, decent - something I would expect from a chain restaurant). Another 15 minutes pass and finally the scallops arrive. These were definitely the highlight of the evening, and were quite good. The scallops were tiny, however, as I was expecting large sea scallops, but they were more like bay scallops. The entrees came out another 10 minutes later. The snow crab legs were cooked well, however the mahi mahi came out so dry that we thought it was chicken. Finally the server came around after we were done eating the crab legs and we asked to change the mahi mahi for something different. He gave a little bit of an attitude, however suggested the sesame encrusted yellow-fin tuna. As this is just seared, it did come out quickly. The tuna was better, but nothing extraordinary. The server never came back to ask if this was better or if we liked it. He only came once we had finished and pushed the plates to the front of the table. And even then, he didn't apologise for any of the problems. The atmosphere is nice, especially because they had everything lit dimly due to the sea turtles. However I don't think we will ever come back here due to the problems with the food - not to mention that the bill came to around $85.00, not including tip and only two iced teas.

Nice view, but it is low to eye level so you can't see as much. I prefer restaurants with a deck that overlooks beach or intercoastal. The food here is mediocre and the restaurant is aged. God forbid you are here later in the evening...the place turns into a 20 something nightclub that is horrifying.

  • Jamie G.

This is my go to place for out of town guests. I think it it the quintessential south florida restaurant. Right on the beach, creative food (although, it is nothing awesome, but it is consistent) Love the live music and the service is always great

  • Ty L.

Tables almost on the beach. Nice atmosphere. A friend raved about this place and took me. Food was cecent. I loved my strawberry margarita. I had a sandwich and fries. It was adequate but definitely not worth the price. I enjoyed my company and was glad he invited me. Doubtful it is a place I will spend my money.

We went there with the family and sat outside. The view from the back patio is very nice and I guess that is what you are paying for. The menu is very limited and over priced. Service is mediocre. I would not go back and not recommend to friends.

  • Judy S.

Good for view only! My friend wanted brunch by the water, so I brought her here. I've seen it packed at night but never dropped by. I'm glad I tried it in the early afternoon and not in the evening. You are first presented with a $5 valet, which you have to use because there is no parking in this area of Deerfield. I ordered the bacon/cheeseburger with a friend egg on top; my friend ordered french toast. The hamburger reminded me of McDonald's -- thin and flavorless. The egg was overcooked with barely a runny yolk, which defeats the purpose. I tasted my friend's french toast and it tasted as if it were cooked on a grill with a lot of burnt leftovers. All in all, it was lower than mediocre. The view WAS fantastic, along the beach with the waves pouring in, right by a walkway where you could watch everyone go by. So, as long as you go for the view and not for the food, have at it. But don't expect a bargain, either.

  • Nerdi G.

Food was good. Service not so good. Baldy waiter kept forgetting to bring me water but I noticed certain people of a certain color didn't have any problems with their water orders. Wouldn't really go here again unless my friends really wanted to go there.

Gorgeous restaurant wih a fantastic view of the ocean. Excellent service (Felipe, our server) and really good food (we went for lunch).

Why does JB's offer us so much promise with its laid back beach atmosphere and live music, and then ruin things with its forgettable food and ransom to park there? This could be such a nice place to frequently hangout, lunch or dinner... but really, the grub keeps me and others away. There are a number of other places on the water to choke down a mediocre lunch or dinner. I only hope JB's decides one day to achieve its full potential by offering a menu and a kitchen to rival its great location.

    (2)
  • Tiffany N.

Besides the location, there is really nothing special about this place. Drinks average price, food mediocre, wait staff there but no personality. I gotta say, it is one gorgeous view though.

We were at JB last night with friends. Sat closest to boardwalk/beach. Weather perfect at dusk on a warm spring evening. Everything was great. Jambalaya "best ever" said my cousin. Wife had Tuna Salad. Judy had lobster salad. I had crab cakes. Key lime for desert was about the best. My absolute was $9 as we're each of the specialty Martinis. We had 7:30 reservations and were seated within 10 minutes. My wife and I decided we need to return more often especially during Summer when locals prevail. We've been going to jb for almost 10 years

I was hear back in 2010 and i have to say that its one of the best seafood places i've had for an affordable price. Eaten here twice and the service is average; to be expected at a place named after the 70's slang term for marijuana joints. You'll find a mix of college aged; and older retired folks here. Valet service is provided and the outdoor seating is the way to go. I'd recommend the fish and chips! they come with an exceptional sauce. Great view of the ocean and a impressive ambiance

I love JB's, been going there for years now and I love this place. Never a dull moment, great menu, bands, drinks and bartenders. Cute bartenders too :) We always have a funny story to share after JB's. This is my favorite spot on Deerfield Beach.

In three words: tasteless and overpriced. Great location but that doesn't compensate for it's lack of substance.

  • Talisha M.

Great view for drinks & relaxing. Not a fan of the food. It was very mehhh average or below...nothing to rave about. I tried the scallops, coco shrimp, & bbq shrimp apps...okay and had the crab cakes for entree & was not impressed at all. Kind of a tour trap in my opinion. Might be a great place to come with friends after playing volleyball out front & have a few drinks.

We had a lovely dinner outside...the food was very good! I had the chicken satay,s they were moist and well marinated..the peanut sauce was awesome! My hubby had the fish and chips and it was huge, but very good! We were glad we had reservations...we will for sure return!!!!

  • Ken Z.

Had dinner here about 10 days ago. Had a reservation for outside. Escorted to our table and had to ask to sit inside due to the amount of cigarette/cigar smoke in the air as a member of our party was pregnant. Once inside, they tried to cram us into a tiny table, too small for our group. Then they objected when we asked to sit elsewhere, which I could typically understand since we were originally supposed to be outside. However, the entire inside was empty! There were a few people at the bar and the entire rest of the restaurant was customer-free. Why the push back? They claimed "reservations". On to the food. Spinach dip was decent, but for $9.50 expected more than a tiny bit of okay dip with some colored tortilla chips out of a bag. Two people ordered fish and chips ($17) - both liked it very much (even though overpriced). Almost enough to give them 3 stars. Chicken sandwich $13.50 was nothing to write home about. Understand this is a seafood restaurant, but another reviewer had said it was good. Trout ($17) was generous portion served with a $3 Diet Coke. Service was decent once we were seated. Appears to be valet only. When we left, inside seating was still 75% empty including the tables we suggested might fit our party better.

  • Natasha D.

They have a great happy hour with discounted drinks and appetizers. They also have live bands on the weekends. The food is OK, nothing to write home about. I personally like bigger portions and was disappointed when I got my meal. I don't even remember what I ordered it was that unimpressive. I did have to load my super bland rice up with tons, I mean tons of hot sauce for some flavor. The service is fair. Our server was new so every time we asked him something he would have to leave and ask another server. This is why you have a pen and paper! It was also a really bad date I was on, so the experience was not so great. One good thing is that the drinks are strong. My date got pretty hammered and I got really bored. This would be a good place if you like small plates and have a good date though. Bottom line is it is better for happy or late afternoon drinks while enjoying the view and the music but eat somewhere else.

Ate at the bar with a galpal last week. The patio was still encased in its "winter shrink wrap". The bartender was knowledgeable about the menu and let us take our time. Pal ordered a flatbread, which was large enough for leftovers, and I had the blackened sea scallops with asparagus and orzo. The soy-based sauce was too salty but it was served on the side so no problem. Excellent asparagus. Generous portion of food, good presentation. A bit pricey overall but as mentioned by others, you are paying for location, location, location ... and food/drink way after that. I'd return.

There were a lot of bad reviews for JB's, but I think the positive outweighed the negative. First of all, the location is great, eating right by the beach sets up for an unbelievable ambiance and the live singing was a nice touch as well. I got the twin lobster tails which I thought was very flavorful and I would recommend to try for sure. We got crab as an appetizer as well which I also thought was good and it came with a nice sauce to compliment it. On top of all this, the portions are huge which is a nice plus. Now on the negative side, we had a reservation for 7 o clock and when we showed up we still had to wait 15 minutes for a table which is not a good way to start off (although not that big of a deal seeing how we just stood next to the beach and enjoyed the scenery and music while we waited). Second, the pricing was very high, but since I was not paying this was not a particularly big problem for me lol but it is something to take into consideration. Finally, the soup we ordered (seafood soup i think it was called) was not very good at all and DEFINITELY NOT worth $8. All in all, I would give JB's 3 and a half stars, but since price wasn't an issue to me I'm rounding up to 4 stars. Its a fun place to have dinner and i would recommend giving it a shot.

Last night I went to JB's for the second time to meet up with relatives in town. After my first visit I was less than thrilled but I figured I should try it again to see if we had an off night. I was a rainy night so although busy it did not take us long to secure a table inside. The restaurant is right on the beach and offers generous outside and inside seating. The decor and vibe of the place is very good and you never seem to be crowded onto another party. We ordered various appetizers and entries and all I can say is I was not impressed. The prices average $$20-$30 per plate which is high and where I expect something special. The crab bisque was average at best, the lobster linguine carbonara was too rich without any flavor of lobster. We had fish and chips and the piece of fried fish was served in a gigantic fried filet which was unappetizing and unflavorful. All in all you will spend a nice chunk of change here and leave the restaurant unsatisfied. OH, AND THEY WILL CHARGE YOU $5 FOR VALET PARKING WHEN YOU LEAVE TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY. BOTTOM LINE; Nice location, ho hum food.........

    (2)
  • Ming Z.

I am between 3 and 4 stars on this one. While the food is immediately forgettable, the location is unbeatable, with the back patio extending straight onto the beach. Go for the ambiance and order drinks only, if you can.

Wow! We almost didn't eat here because of the awful Yelp reviews...I'm glad we gave it a try! This was our second visit to JB's. The first time was in 2009. We went when it was extremely busy. We had to wait for 45 minutes for an indoor table. I don't particularly remember the food because I was trying to force my 2 year old son to stay seated. Damn kids. But I digress! We gave it a second try in Sept 2011. We went around 5:30 on a Saturday and got seated immediately outside. Gorgeous view. Melissa served us, and she was very friendly and attentive. She was patient, as well. My 1.5 year old daughter punctured her styrofoam cup with her fist and exploded milk everywhere, and I didn't even get a dirty look! (Don't worry; we are finished having kids). Onto the food....I had a small Caesar salad and blackened fresh grouper with some sort of Asian butter (Melissa recommended it but put it on the side in case I didn't like it.) It was ah-mazing. I am a big fish eater, and the grouper was cooked perfectly. The Asian butter sauce was almost the best thing I've ever eaten. It was so good that I was dipping anything I could in it (even my daughters french fries. Ha!) I occasionally have dreams about it. My dad ordered a chicken sandwich. I got kind of worried when I saw it come to the table with cheese and some sort of sauce (aeoli, maybe?) because my dad is a health nut. He ate it and raved about it! After dinner, we walked down the pier and got ice cream for dessert at a little shop (used to be Ben and Jerry's). We will definitely be back to JBs in the spring!

I was extremely disappointed. I ordered a Miami Vice as my beverage which was pretty good and the view of the beach from where I was sitting was pretty cool but not much of anything else was impressive. I don't know what the name of the '90's cover band was that was playing there but they should consider changing their name to "The Migraines". God awful. I would've rather preferred the audience doing karaoke. I ordered a shrimp cocktail which they brought to me in what seems like a scotch glass, which I think they used because the glass had a magnifying effect because they were some of the smallest shrimps I've ever seen. They did not taste fresh to me at all and, to add insult to injury, to say the cocktail sauce was not up to par would be putting it mildly. I will not be coming here during my next visit to Florida.

My wife and I are Florida "snowflakes", but when we are in Boca Raton we ALWAYS have at least one lunch at JB's. This time we used the YELP on-line reservation service which was easy and worked perfectly. The restaurant is pleasant and comfortable. We always sit outside, weather permitting, with great view of the beach, volleyball games and attractive boardwalk pedestrians! We have not tried the entire menu, but our favorites are the "Sea-Zer" salad with seared tuna (delicious and not drowned in dressing), the "Rocket Flatbread" (cheesy and filling) and the "Fish & Chips" which is an awesome piece of crispy breaded Icelandic Cod and home made "chips" (huge, fresh and I take home half for later - yummy!). Beer, drink and food selection is substantial. Table service is usually prompt and attentive and wait staff is knowledgable. They permit dogs, but only service animals not pets. At times there is live music on the patio around the bar, nice, but it can get pretty loud. My only objection is the $3 charge (plus voluntary tip) for valet parking, but truthfully, parking is very limited and they don't have a lot. Great place for lunch, especially if you have company with you. A really fun place.

  • Emily B.

We know the location rocks and the spot on the beach is coveted. That said, there will be a wait, it will be crowded, and the dining room definitely feels like the place where the "Saved by the Bell" cast worked during their summer episodes. It's the trade off you get for wanting to dine open air on the water. The food is good. I ordered the scallops ($25) with soy ginger glaze and ate everything on my plate. However, I won'tnecessarily crave anything from here the next time I start a diet. I kind of wished I either loved it or hated it, but -- at the risk of sounding like Randy Jackson -- it was just alright for me, dog.

I don't know what these people are complaining about food-wise. You order seafood at a seafood restaurant. Duh. Anyways, luv JB's, been there at least 10 times. I almost always order the pecan-encrusted tilapia. Along with the island rice, it's delish! It's a bit pricey, but worth it. Wait staff is decent, not wonderful. 1 hour wait to sit outside is excessive, but what do you expect with the snowbirds. I used to attend "Brazilian night" (lol, for the younger crowd) on Sunday nights back when I partied like a young person, it was pretty fun. The bands they have on Saturday nights are usually good and it is laid back and chill (more for an older crowd). Expect to be hit on by creepy old men, whether you're with girls or your guy, but that will happen anywhere in Deerfield.

  • Lisa F.

Awww jbs why do you only have 3 stars? We personally love jbs. We have drinks and eat here at least once a week and it is always good. The service is great! Well in the bar anyway. We usually sit at the bar or bar tables. The bands are always good too.

We went here on the 4th of July, you'd think it would be crazy busy since I've never seen a beach so packed in my life, it was just moderately busy. We were able to sit right down and order food. We got mojitos but they were horrible, way way too much suger OMG. I sent mine back because I just couldn't drink it. The people I was with wished that they had done the same. We got the spinach dip to start which was average at best. The chips they serve with it were very greasy. We all got the mahi sandwich blackened. My husband asked for no tomatoes and they obliged, but forgot to blacken his fish (definitely go for the blackened fish, its tastier). The sandwich itself was good which is why they get a 3 star rating. The fish was fresh, it was cooked perfectly, the bread was good and their aioli was tasty. Their fries were also decent. The restaurant next door seemed better when we walked past it after we had already eaten...oh well! At least they have valet parking!!!

When i go to a restaurant in florida and see nothing but pasty white people, i know to leave immediately. OKOK maybe not, but i am a local and the city has much better options just across the street in Flannigans and Whales Rib.....I was going to rate 2 stars, but i just remembered that the Valet is $10 on top of already insane food prices

I met a friend for lunch here last week. It was during February break so Deerfield was packed with tourists from all over. I was very grateful for the $3 valet parking. Without that I think I would have gotten frustrated and left. I had the Thai Chicken Salad. I was very good, not exceptional. My friend got the tuna, I have never been a fan but she said it was very good. The service was very good and our waiter was very familiar with the menu and made good recommendations for us. He was attentive and they were VERY busy. We had a reservation so there was no wait. The wait time after we ordered was just enough time to have one drink and catch up a bit. We sat outside right near the sand with a great view of the beach and ocean. I will review again after I have gone back and tried something else.

The place is HORRIBLE!!! I am a guest from NYC. My friend took me to JB's to have some cocktails on the beach. We arrived at 11 am.. the first people in the restaurant. At 12:30.. We were enjoying cocktail number two.. when the waitress told us to leave now its the lunch crowd.. we have to move. Meanwhile.. the place was not full and we had not even finished our cocktails. We told her that we are not done.. we are not moving.. it is RUDE to kick the first person out of their seats because its lunch time. The drinks were 10 dollars each.. and we were already paying 40.00.. more then a sandwich.. She got the manager who told us to leave as well.. The table next to mine was empty. We were only talking amongst ourselves.. not drunk or rowdy. The manager threatened to call the police if we dont move our seats! Needless to say.. NO tip was given.. and I will NEVER return!! DONT GO!!!! They are IDIOTS!! Plus my bloody mary tasted like tomato juice!

Lunch on the beach. Calamari nothing special, did not like the bell peppers heaped on top. Fish tacos were good. Caribbean chicken was good but a little bland, nothing a little Tabasco sauce couldn't help. Their version of tomato bisque with orzo was creamy with good flavor. Enjoyed the outdoor seating. Very windy that day, so glad for the heavy duty plastic flaps. Kind of pricey, but would go back.

Beautiful ocean view, spotty service, a bit overpriced. I tasted my Dad's Bahamian chowder (with conch) and it was pretty good. My macademia encrusted fish with mango salsa, rice and vegetables was pretty good but not earth shattering. Great beachfront location, it was nice to be able to walk along the beach path after dinner.

I found this place driving to Boca one day and it is another great spot on the beach with valet parking. Their lobster and shrimp salad was delicious and I would highly recommend it! I saw several other people ordering it, so it must be one of their top sellers on the menu! They have a nice varied menu and I liked that you could eat lunch, go to the beach and return back again for drinks. I would like to return back here in the evening, where I heard they have live music.

Good place for brunch on the weekend. My girlfriends and I usually come here after a morning run, since they open at 10 a.m. The huevos rancheros are hands down one of the best breakfast dishes I've had. The fact that they add carne asada into the mix makes it great. The service is okay, but the mimosas and huevos rancheros make up for it.

Sunday nights they have a descent band playing outside and a DJ playing inside! You get the best of both worlds when you come here. You also have to try their Dynamite Scallops their to die for!

While in Deerfield Beach area on business I was looking for a local place for dinner and to relax and take in the local culinary fare. When I checked in to the hotel they recommended JB's On the Beach. Being adventurous I decided to check it our. Great decision. They offer a $25 meal special which included salad, the main course and desert. I decided to sit outside since the restaurant is located right on the beach. It was a little noisy but tolerable. As an added treat they had live music provided by I settled on the house salad, shrimp jambalaya and key lime pie. The shrimp gumbo was excellent. Usually the shrimp are over cooked and rather chewy, but not tonight. Just right. The portions are generous and very tasty. Now on to the key lime pie. This was the best part of the meal. The pie was not artificially colored and looked like a key lime pie is supposed to look, kind of a creamy color. This pie was great. As an added treat they had live music. Great experience. I would definitely recommend.

The 3 of us went to lunch today around 1pm. None of us had been at JB's before. There was a half-hour wait for outdoor seating, but we were seated inside immediately. Even inside, we had a great view of the ocean and Deerfield Beach pier. Service was faultless -- waitress was there to refill glasses the moment they were low. We had the Caribbean chicken, the Cuban Panini, and I had the fish and chips. The chicken and Cuban sandwich were not bad, but not especially memorable. The fish and chips were EXCELLENT. The portion was huge and was delicious. Atlantic cod. I had to share it with my friends. My friends and I agreed that we will definitely go back to JB's, but we will all have the fish and chips. Great restaurant. ORDER the fish and chips. For appetizers we had the coconut shrimp and 12 raw oysters. Very good. Overall, we really had a great experience at the restaurant. Afterwards we walked from the restaurant out onto the beach and to Deerfield Beach pier. Overall, a great experience. I'm not a shill, and this is not a fake report. My friends and I had a great time at the restaurant.

Perhaps I should have remembered the last time I was here and why I vowed to never come back. However, I thought perhaps brunch would be different. Not so much. From the moment we sat down, the attitude and ambience continued to go downhill. Our server seemed as if he couldn't be bothered with us (maybe because we were there with our two little girls)? He was standoffish, didn't offer to explain the brunch menu or any specials. No biggie, I thought, I'll just have some champagne and maybe things will get better. I ordered the queso benedict. It was the worst benedict I have ever eaten. There was no flavor, the yolks were completely hard and It was a sloppy plate. The home fries were horrid. Again, no flavor, mushy, and almost inedible. My husband had the tenderloin benedict. See above for the critique. Same thing, tough meat, hard yolks, etc. I ended up eating my kids' fruit salad. The server never got any happier either. Perhaps he was upset to be working on a Sunday? 0 for 2 never again.

Nothing too spectacular...Except for the view of Deerfield Beach. The food was ok, and highly over priced. Mostly just a place for people to be at a bar and listen to extremely loud music. Not my favorite.

Great location in Deerfield, and a great view of the beach. Also the valet parking is cheap if the parking lot right next to it is full. Now that the good is out of the way: This bar reminds me of the Jersey shore. This is not a Good Thing. Of course, there's a great deal of people in this world who want nothing more than this. If you enjoy paying 10 bucks a drink to be surrounded by popped collars, new haircuts, jagerbombs and all, JB's is your place. As you can probably tell, this is not my scene, but it's popular enough where the bar was pretty full early, so I can't really say it's bad (wait, yes I can), just not my thing. The food is expensive and mediocre even by barfood standards, but there's enough restaurants around where you can pop in there if you're hungry before or after JB's. In fact you could probably do your drinking there too.

The only thing this place has going for it is the location. RIGHT on the beach, right next to the boardwalk. Go elsewhere for food. I had a bad oyster here that not only ruined my day, but I don't know when I'll be able to eat another oyster again. The thought makes my stomach turn! My husband had a weird Latin burger made with pork, YUCK. My fish tacos were nothing special.

This is a fairly typical Florida 'tourist food' place. It's good enough to where you won't complain. But on the other hand you will forget the food as soon as you walk out the door. It's just not a memorable place to have dinner. The price is on the very high side. The view and the party is what sets this place apart. Sitting right on the beach, this restaurant morphs into one of the very few night spots in the Deerfield/Boca/Pompano area. Why don't we have more night spots? In the evenings the music is too loud and the party people too crammed together on the outside bar patio area. Small live bands blast the night away. Dress is casual. If you don't mind getting elbo-to-elbo personal with a loud intoxicated crowd, you might like the late evening party goers.

JBs is a great place to grab good food with friends and family. Its not the fanciest place or best food but the bar is great and the atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing dinner. Ate at the bar and the service was excellent. Tried the cod and the seafood stew. Both were good. It's not a place you would keep going back to for the food but if you cant decide on a place to get some dinner with friends this is the choice to make

The Eats: Food was only OK and expensive. Diverse menu, but just like most beach-side restaurants- overrated. The Experience: The place is HUGE and we were told to go on a Monday. So we did. I have never seen such a sh*tshow ever. The place is big and on the beach and could be a gem. Unfortunately, the trash ruins the show. Big hulky leathery men were fighting and getting thrown out by bouncers. Trashy girls spilling drinks on you trying to get to the dance floor. The life music is nice but the people who go here are the type of people you couldn't pay ME to hang out with. The Damage: Too expensive. You are paying for the view I suppose Will most likely never go again. Unless I'm looking to pick a fight (or trying to find the Jersey Shore).

Location, location, location. This place is everything The Cove is not. Right on the beach with outdoor dining, where smoking is permitted, available. Nice outdoor bar with friendly talkative bartenders who have been there for years and whom we recognize from visits in years past. Sunday afternoon and evening are the busiest as they offer live music with (sometimes) multiple bands (indoor & outdoor) & dancing after 6PM. You will find everyone here: students, hard bodies, beautiful bodies, married couples, and wannabe movers and shakers. Inexpensive valet parking makes it easy to get in and out. Reasonably priced for what you get, good food, but definitely not cheap. A must visit.

My favorite restaurant! Chill, relaxed atmosphere; live music every night (and during the day on weekends!); DELICIOUS berry mojitos. For me, there is no better way to relax than grabbing a table outside on the patio at JB's, with a gorgeous view of the ocean and Pier at dusk, with a drink in hand and an order of Dynamite Scallops on the way... heaven! Definately the best locale in Deerfield with the most comprehensive menu and servers/bartenders who really know their stuff. I know they have a Prix Fixe menu at certain times of the year - not exactly sure when but it's an awesome value!! Great place for a bridal/baby shower, a birthday dinner or a first date. (I had the rehearsal dinner for my wedding here - they did not disappoint!! All of the out-of-town guests were so impressed and always ask to go back when they come to visit). An A+ overall!!!

Great setting, on the ocean. Food just average. Too bad. They just don't have to try very hard, as people come here just to be on the ocean.

Great view of the beach and this place also has a convenience factor. Ordered a kids lemonade for my 11 month old and was charged the full price for a drink, the drink was significantly smaller and also had not a single refill. Food was ok. Service kinda crappy. Very touristy and a little pricey when the service is considered. If I'm paying $$$ I expect service to go with it, especially being a server myself.

We went here for a bachelorette party for dinner and it was great! They take reservations, which is super helpful and they have outdoor seating close to the beach, which is fun! Our waiter, Justin took really good care of us! He brought us desserts for our celebrations and gave us good food and drink recommendations. I had the Asian Bbq salmon, which was delicious! The salmon was cooked really nicely. I also had a mojito, which was really nice too! I would definitely recommend this place for dinner!

The Food here is over priced. The bartenders add to your tab after you tab out. They take full advantage of tourist. It's a place you can grab a beer (pay cash). They added to my credit card $40 after Tabbed out. The food is gross and over priced.

Hi understand they have the location on lock but that doesn't excuse the horrible service...they made me feel stupid for checking in with the rum drink, like it was a big deal the manger had to come and recheck the checkin...why even have a check in an offer if you going to make a big deal about it I would even a check then if I knew it was going to be such an ordeal. I don't mind paying top dollar for drinks as long as the services there if it wasn't for the view I never come back and the live music

Stopped into JB's for Happy Hour for my guy's birthday. A first stop in a night of fun in Florida. We were seated on the outdoor patio with a view of the beach and live music. We asked for a Happy Hour menu, but were told that it was only for service at the bar which was overcrowded with people and standing room only. Since we were already seated, we just continued with our order. We ordered a half dozen oysters, a beer and cocktail. The JB's Orange Blossom was a blended drink that was more sweet than substance. Although refreshing, it tasted like a virgin cocktail. The oysters were delicious, probably the best quality of all those in Deerfield Beach. They were from Washington, served with a vinaigrette and horseradish and we asked for hot sauce. We only stayed for about 45 minutes, as we had dinner and a movie to look forward to. On the way out, I noticed the interior was very nice. Love the glass tiles and the boat hanging from the ceiling, perfect interior for a place by the beach.

Hit or miss food. Loud bar scene. Mojito's look great. Can't beat the location next to the beach. Friendly service. Best dishes: Dynamite Scallops (like Scallops Mornay) Lobster and Shrimp Salad. Banana-Coconut Cream Pie: though it could be slightly more flavorful, 'was nonetheless fresh and delicious.

Worst experience ever!! They gave us a table right next to the bar/inside. No waitress available and they sent u the bartender. She was ey rude rude from the beginning. She took forever to take our order and then forever to bring our food. After 45 mins waiting food finally arrived. No silverware at the table an Manager had to help. Food was good but then everything got worse. we gave the bartender cash and a card to pay the bill. She stole the cash and charged the credit card extra. $20 for tips. We didn't feel she deserved that much so called the manager. She took the drinks out of the bill and it was ok. Then we realized, so what happened with the cash. The bartender stole it and said we never gave her any cash. Manager didn't do anything about it. Don't go there, they will steal your money an service it's not worth it. Never coming back.

The ahi tuna salad is the best! I ordered a mojito which wasnt very fresh, I could tell it was premixed. The prices are kind of high, you're paying for the view more than the portion or quality of food. Its a great location, but food is average

I ordered the Claws of King crab. OVERPRICED DISGUSTING!! Extremely LOUD. NOT FRESH AT ALL. 6 or 8 Claws For 59$....HORRIBLE Seriously I had some just the day before and I had some so many times. God it's delicious. But at Jb's they were horrible. They tasted like freezer or like fishy. Does not come with garlic. Simple butter only. The almond risotto... Nor tasty at all. It was OK. But not good. The veggies were not bad. But they were not awesome. the one star is for the very slow service we had. We had to ask 3-4 times for the bread. And they brought the bread at the same time as the meal.... really? We also asked our waiter to bring the music down as it was so loud. He said he'll try. A bunch of other people asked for the same thing but in vain. He "tried" but failed... So yeah... Will not go back.

This place was recommended by someone who has lived in the area for awhile, and we decided to come here for an early dinner recently. The food was okay, but overpriced for the amount of food given and the two drinks I had were on the weak side. IMO, the only thing this place has going for it, is its location, view of the ocean and they have live musicians. Service is great, but I'm not sure I'll go back for the views. I'm sure some of the other restaurants nearby have better prices and better drinks, but not the view. Maybe we'll try the Happy Hour and give them another chance.

The location is excellent, great views of Deerfield Beach and good for people watching. That's why I give it 2 stars. The bad is that the food is not very good and it's overpriced.

Good food. It should be listed as $$$ instead of $$. If you are a fan of Harris Ranch in California, their burgers come from Harris. George gave us great service for our party of 8. We had coconut shrimp, Harris burger, fish n chips, big salad. Kids had pages to color and then a grilled cheese and kids burger. Everything arrived hot and well prepared..

What's great about this place is the location. You are right on the beach! Amazing view while you eat. Came in for lunch today and had the spinach dip (which was great) and the blackened Mahi sandwich. The sandwich was a huge disappoint for me. Fries are amazing! Will be back for drinks only though.

This is a place that teeters on a 3-4 star to me, and I'm going to go ahead and go with a 4. Here is what you need to be looking for in order for this to be a good experience : -beach front dining -busy, loud atmosphere (on evenings, at least) -either a walk or have your car valet parked -decent food, not outstanding Really, it is all about the beach front, outdoor dining here. That is the main reason why I would come. Park in the garage or park at a meter down off A1A and walk down. It's South Florida - it will be nice outside and you are on the beach. Just trust me on that one. To me, the restaurant wasn't my vibe. Their was an awkward dance floor both inside and outside that didn't mix well with the people trying to dine. I wish the two things - the bar/pseudo club feel and actual restaurant/dining experience were separated a little better. If you like having something to talk about, the people watching here will give you that. If you like talking during your meal on the other hand, that isn't going to happen. Food is pretty well priced considering it's in a huge tourist area and on the beach and I always expect to pay more. We tried the coconut shrimp (good, not overly greasy, but also not incredible), the bocce balls (definitely worth getting if you love mozzarella sticks), and I got the tomato and mozzarella salad. Easily the tomato and mozzarella salad was the best thing and probably the best salad I've had in south Florida, randomly. It is one of the side salads - it's huge, full of yummy little balls of fresh mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, and lettuce. I will be coming back for that delicious salad alone.

Sitting outside with a great view for brunch that includes a mimosa! How could I say no?! The Huevos Rancheros were well seasoned and the tortillas were warm to the touch. Others at the table had biscuits and gravy as well as the French toast. Portion size the French toast was a steal, biggest bang for your buck. If you are looking for an appetizer I would consider the spinach and artichoke dip. They had a young lady singing, which is always a nice touch. Service was good and the food was spot on. Had to valet the car for $5 not too bad considering everything else that we were able to walk to.

Usually love this spot, but went for brunch today and they seemed very short staffed. Lila at the bar inside was the only bartender and she was sweet but slammed. She took the order and checked on me, but was running away so quickly I could not ask for ketchup or salt with my meal. I grabbed salt off a neighboring table, and she was too busy to check on me until my meal was finished. My coffee never came, though I asked her and a runner for it. The lobster Benedict was great, but service is shaky and understaffed.

  • Diane N.

I went here with a group of eighteen people. We sat outside on the back patio. I decided to order a few appetizers instead of an entree. The spinach and artichoke dip served with warm corn chips was very tasty. I also enjoyed the flatbread. My friend ordered trout, but sent it back. He said it was full of bones and kind of dry. He changed it for the blackened mahi mahi which he said was delicious. Other people sitting near me had macadamia encrusted tilapia, steak and shrimp, and a cheese burger. All three dishes were hits. My friend Steve said his cheeseburger was one of the best he's ever had. The service was friendly and attentive, which was great since we were such a large group. Best of all we got separate checks, so we didn't have to figure what each person owed. Because we were a group the gratuity was included on the check. Several people ordered cocktails which ran about $9 or $10 each. I saw a card on the table that listed a special beer for $3.50, but I didn't try it, The outside patio was covered. It was a pleasant evening, so it wasn't very hot outside. There was a band playing music, but it didn't interfere with our conversations. Since it was dark out we couldn't see the ocean, but we saw occasional lights from passing boats. The prices were a little on the high side, but the servings were large, and the food was very good. The only problem was parking. If you go, expect to leave your car with the valet. Valet parking was not very expensive, but it was not free either. Just a note: There was an attendant in the ladies rest room. If you have to go there you might want to bring money for a tip.

Good food, drinks and ambience right on the beach! I had a mango mojito and the jambalaya. The mojito was sweet and tasty, but was a bit weak. Jambalaya was delicious. Seafood was fresh and a generous portion. The happy hour menu looks interesting, and seems to have good prices for substantial food. Will update on that soon!!!

Dinner was amazing! Perhaps it was the great casual ambiance that added to it. We arrived at 8p on a Saturday night and the wait was not a long as we had expected. For appetizer we ordered the clams....delicious!!! A real must for next time. The wahoo was fresh and light. The calamari done perfectly. Will come back soon. Only downside is the bar, not staffed appropriately. Drinks took too long and bartender not the most attentive to the order. Will go again soon.

Brought our friend who was visiting from Pittsburgh before his flight. We were able to get a hightop easily outside with a beautiful view. We each ordered from the brunch menu and everyone was perfect. The lobster scramble was so good....I think I have found my new favorite breakfast meal. Both of our servers were attentive, especially Josh. It was a wonderful start to our Sunday Funday.

We stopped in for a quick drink and some oysters on our way to meeting some friends. The view was gorgeous and the live singer did a (subdued) version of Paint it Black. We sat at the bar after asking the hostess if there were any free hightop tables outside. She refereed us to what appeared to be another establishment, which was confusing, but we still got a nice view of the ocean at the bar when we came back inside. I asked the bartender what oysters they had and she told me the special was the kumamoto oysters, and that they were small but flavorful. That's exactly what they were, little bitty things with tons of briny, oceany goodness. The manager came over to tell me they had run low on the kumamoto's, so they were throwing in 4 of another variety, which was fine (it was only 5 or 6pm though, which seemed odd, and they weren't as tasty). When we sat down I ordered a rum runner which was good, but after 15 minutes the oysters still hadn't arrived and we were in a hurry. I asked the bartender about them and she got them right away- I'm thinking the person who was supposed to bring them forgot. Luckily they were worth the wait.

They have recently remodeled/redecorated. I don't know, it looks very 1978 to me . Decor reminds me of those wedding reception places I used to be drug to as a kid when I lived in Long Island back in the 70s. The outside is nice (right on the beach). The inside is just not that appealing to me. They do have a bar inside and out as well. I am a big burger and fries girl. I'm pretty sure if I have been to a restaurant and they have a burger on the menu, at some point I have had it. On my last visit to JBs I had the budget and fries. That was 5 star. What brings down a star is on the 4 other occasions I have been there, at least twice they have been "out" of something. Friends will order a dish and each time I we have been told there is a specific item they are out of. Service overall is good and the location is perfect (you can walk from other deerfield area bars/restaurants such as brus room)

Food was terrible! Everything is very bland and the drinks have no alcohol. The service however was great, but I don't recommend coming here and I will not be coming back.

  • Jen G.

I haven't been to JBs in a while but the few times I have gone I've always had a positive experience. I don't come for the food (have had a couple of apps and that's about it - and they were good) but I DO come for the beach front view and for drinks (I have especially love their berry mojitos). I look forward to coming here since I also enjoy their live music (who doesn't love live music). You can check their website to see who is playing and that's always nice to know before you go! If you're in the area I definitely recommend stopping by. If JBs doesn't having something going on that you like there are a couple of other options. Do be warned that I'm not aware of free parking in the area so know you'll have to pay to park in a lot. They do have valet if you'd rather go that route however.

Wow I have to seriously pull back my last comments about the food. Today was a total disaster insofar as the service was miserable - which I will explain in detail and the food was really really bad. We had a Father's Day event and decided to keep the plans there after our 103 year old Uncle Benny passed away - so the the funeral - we headed all the way up to JBs with a party of 13. We started ordering a ton of food as we had kids there and wanted to get started ASAP. The waitress was pregnant so maybe she should have been on bed rest as she was taking forever to even get out drink order. So bread we asked for - and we waited and waited... Never came! Now for the food... The normally awesome dynamite scallops were all mushy and water logged - The muscles were over-cooked and rubbery, the white water clams were kind of the same - the broth was really salty though. The oysters - which I didn't eat were some west coast variety and supposedly were freshly rinsed with water and lacked any stitch of taste - real shame... Oh yes - still no bread, table was not getting cleaned often enough, napkins ( 5 children mind you) were always lacking as well as the refills on the drinks... I personally didn't order an entree nor did my brother as we were upset at the food so far. The others had mixed reviews - the kids pizza was cold and the chicken was hard to eat as it was rubbery as well as the wild rice being bland and cold so the kids were complaining... So overall the waitress was just lazy and un-attentive, most of the families food was either just bad or soso. Really disappointed as I have gone there for years and years for business lunches and family occasions - sometime it was hit or miss but this time was so bad I cannot believe it. I cannot believe how bad of a time my family had. Probably won't be coming back - despite the views - it had become a touristy schlock shop. Crappy thing about it is that I met the owner and had dinner and drinks with the owner John Boyle - hence the name JBs...

Went there Sunday around 10.30 and although it was Easter Sunday and very very busy and beachside tables were not available , we were found a table inside, which was nice. Our server Richard was very nice and was quick with our drink order of two bloody Mary's and perfect start to any Sunday breakfast. Our order of eggs benedict & Lobster benedict arrive soon after and we cooked to perfection, my one and only gripe was there was not enough lobster and I would have paid a bit more on my plate. But a nice start to our Sunday and I would recommend the breakfast/brunch to everyone. See you soon JB's

Sat at the bar and JENA our bartender was great. Drink to get... COCONUT MOJITO, your welcome. For the rum drinkers, they carry donQ, with cranberry and a lime, perfect. Food was delicious (Asian tuna wrap and smoked salmon dip, yum). The boyfriend and I were out and just stopped here, best decision we could have made. The view/ambience is awesome, right on the beach. We will be back, for sure.

It is a busy and fun place to go. You can sit practically on tbe beach. Portions are large. Lobster stuffed with shrimp on top of a large salad, very fresh and delicious. Drinks were good. Place is quite loud, especially on a weekend night. Live music some nights.

If you want lunch/dinner at the beach this is great. You aren't close enough to dip your feet in the sand but take 5 steps and you are there. They have a nice inside bar/restaurant as well. The happy hour prices are good. The food is average so the price you pay is mostly atmosphere. Valet is $5, I just paid up because I wasn't in the mood for figuring out parking. On a side note: no cider; no twisted tea.

This place is awesome! Coming from the U.P. I haven't had seafood in a long while. We have sampled here and there over the past two days ... By far the best so far. The calamari was perfect! The salmon was cooked to perfection, and the smoked ribs melted in your mouth! The atmosphere is good... Great staff ... Highly recommended and I will surely come back!

Second time here, and to be honest found lunch better than the dinner we had last time. Probably worth an extra half star to 3.5 actually. Great ambience and location. Great outdoor patio area. Biggest gripe was the inattentive waitstaff and careless food preparation (for instance half my French fries were seasoned, the other half geographically on my plate, we're not). I'll give it another go...

This was my second time here. The first time I split fish tacos and crab cakes with someone and they were fantastic! This time I had the ribs, coleslaw and mac n chesse, all of which were just ok. There was nothing wrong with them, just may not have been my taste. The atmosphere is enough to make anyone go back again again though. I sat outside both times and nothing beats grubbin' watching the waves, good live music, and good service. This time I went on a Saturday and was bummed I couldn't valet then beach (the last time was on a Sunday and I could). It was actually really easy to find street parking so... I will most definitely be back again. Next time I play beach volleyball, eat then drink! Happy eating!

My family and I love JB's on the beach! This is such a great environment. There are not too many options when it comes to restaurants on the beach in the Boca area so this is a great place to enjoy the view. After dinner we usually take a stroll up the pier to see all the people fishing and relaxing on the beach. The food is amazing and the cocktails are even better. My wife and I recently sat at the bar and the bartender was quite friendly and suggested the oysters on a half shell. They were out of this world! Well definitely be back!

If you want a nice view of the ocean, this is the place. If you want a delicately prepared dinner from a broad menu, go somewhere else. After questioning our waiter it seemed that there was not a single fresh, locally prepared fish on the menu. The questioning also revealed that almost everything was farm raised suggesting, of course, that the selections were largely of the frozen and thawed variety. The service had the feel of "are you done yet?" Forgettable! Pat B.

I've been to JB's several times since we live nearby and always bring family when they come to town. It is usually very good and you can't beat the view. But last Monday night's dinner almost sent me to the hospital. I am so very disappointed. I got the worst case of food poisoning from the Seared Ahi Tuna Salad. I will spare you the gross details. The worst part is that I got sick from the mixed greens in the salad, not the rare tuna. I noticed that it was soaked in dressing even though the server said it was going to be very light. It was either the greens or the dressing but couldn't have been the tuna because my husband ate it and had no problem. I only ate half, but that was all it took to be violently sick for about 12 hours (and no, I didn't drink any alcohol). Sorry to say that I won't be going back to JB's or bringing family there. Beware and be careful.

I went here this past Sunday & had a blast! The live music was great & dinner was too. (I go here every now & again with friends & always have the best time) For a added bonus the weather was BEAUTIFUL & so was the beach scenery along with the people. Love this place :) Sunny

The valet took 6 bucks in quarters out of my center-console. I will not be returning. If their taking quarters out if my car what are they taking out of others??? Food was very average, to top it off. The view is great, but next time I'll just get a laspadas sub and sit on my beach chair and save myself a lot if aggravation!

Nice setting on the water, but food not great and not bad. Had a classic mojito ($9), a flat bread pizza appetizer (so so), and a on the lite menu their glazed salmon. You go here more for the setting than the food.

Went late afternoon on Sunday. The outdoor area, facing the beach and ocean was jumping. They was a great live band and people were partying. We sat in an inside section separated from the outdoor patio by a floor to ceiling glass barrier. The setting is fantastic, the place is very large with a big bar section...also jumping. Valet parking ($5) is necessary, because parking in this area is near impossible. The drinks are good and the food we ordered was also good. I won't say this is a fine dining place, but my fish and chips were good, my wife really enjoyed the crab cakes, while one friend enjoyed their steak. Perhaps the star of the evening were the seared scallops. They looked perfectly cooked sitting in an attractive sauce... our friend said they were delicious. Our bill came to $159 with only three booze drinks, so it's not a cheap night out, but it was great fun.

Cool beach side restaurant and bar. Great service. Got a five dollar Bacardi drink by checking in. Linda gave us great service. Special menu nightly. If you like seafood and ambiance on the beach I highly recommend. Try the mojitos.

JD'S is a beautiful dining spot on the ocean front. The food is scrumptious. We recommend you trek there for lunch, enjoy the views and culinary treats. Request an upfront table facing the beach and ocean. The crispy calamari with slivers of sweet peppers, asiago cheese and a tasty roasted tomato sauce is the best we ever had and the lobster and shrimp salad is memorable. The food was exceptional and the friendly service flawless,. After enjoying your meal go outside and stroll on the lengthy side walk parallel to the oceanfront, or, lounge on a bench and enjoy the sites. If you are game, go onto the beach and take a dip in the ocean !!!

This was my first time at this restaurant. Enjoyed the fact Valet was not over priced because it was near the beach. I had the Egg White Omelet, a few mimosas and a coffee. The food was delicious, the area was nice, not too crowded. The only major problem was our server Kerri was not pleasant at all, she seemed miserable and her customer service skills needs improvement. Every time we would ask for something, it seemed like she was annoyed or we were bothering her. I would go back but would request not to have her as a server again.

I have had a few experiences at JB's that I would give three stars, but last night I was particularly impressed. We went in for a late dinner. Had to wait about ten minutes for a table but no big deal. We were seated and ordered drinks as well as the appetizer special, mussels in a tomato based sauce. They were really good and I hope it wasn't just a one time special. I ordered the lobster pizza and my boyfriend ordered the crab cakes. I thought both were excellent. The pizza was a really good thin crust and had quite a bit of lobster. The crab cakes had a lot of crab and a nice texture. The service was particularly good and the view was of course amazing. I should mention I had a voice daily deal so I had $25 off the meal. I'm glad I bought it because I tend to write off JB's as a tourist trap, but this time I had a much different experience....I won't avoid it as I did in the past.

Overall would like to give this a 4 but due to some miscommunication with the server & the noise level would have to drop to 3. I need to add that we are seniors & loud music is not our friend. The pecan crusted grouper was marvelous & served with sweet potatoes which complemented the fish. The crab cakes were also excellent. The halibut, however, was not remarkable but still good.

We went for happy hour tonight. I wanted to sit outside but it was completely full so we went inside and had a great time. Our bartender was Leni and she was great. Attentive but not hovering. We had 3 drinks and 4 small appetizers they had on special for happy hour. Our bill was about $30, which is unheard of on the beach. Ended up loving sitting inside where I could still see the water and at the same time enjoy a conversation with my hubby.

Been here three years in a row, always more than twice or three times in one trip. Clean, amazing view, best food in town, great service. Right on beach with no annoying birds. Great happy hour and live music. The clams, scallops, cocunut shrimp, and pretty much everything on menu is to die for.

This is a beachy "fun" place in a perfect location. Still, I'd raise a mild caution amid all the cheers on this page. The bar is great; same with the music and dancing. But the place is dominated by a managerial cynicism that knows its client base will return, no matter how bad the food or service. At a recent lunch there -- mediocre to bad food -- we noticed the waiters were chatty and friendly, but kept getting the customers to do their job for them. Our waiter took a food order and walked away from the table: she came back only when it was time to drop the check. We had appetizers and sat for a long time with the empty plates in front of us. I told my wife that in 30 seconds a runner would show up with our food and expect us to move the plates ourselves, and, sure enough, just as the words came out of my mouth this kid ran up and said "Okay! Fish sandwich?" Meanwhile, the lady across the aisle from us had been trying to get her water glass filed for 10 minutes while wait staff walked back and forth past her. Her waiter made at least six passes of the table without ever looking at her. Finally, she had to raise her hand like a sixth grader. This is about how the whole lunch ran. People finished their plates and tried to push them around on the table, and then looked around nervously for some kind of service. The message I got was JB's has the beach. . . it doesn't really need to put up great food or take care of people at the table. None of this means the music and drinks are bad. And the food is okay if you don't mind watching the crust fall off the fried calamari as you pick it up. I'm sure we'll come back, like everybody else. But that doesn't make this a great place to eat.

I now understand why 3 stars. Busy, noisy place. Food was good. Everyone on our party had a great meal. My husband loved the rice! Service was just ok. Wait staff are very busy so when we sent him away, it was 15 minutes more to order. He missed our appetizer. We were not offered bread. Sloppy service. If you don't mind big, busy restaurant, the food is worth it.

  • Aaron C.

Don't expect the best food, it's average at best. You're coming here merely for the location, which is awesome. The drinks aren't bad, but for the quality of food and drinks you're getting, it's overpriced. The average meal worth having starts at about $13-15, and that's typically a sandwich. Again, the location is great though.

Been to JBs a dozen times now. Generally good service and food if you stick with the basics. Tuna (seared) salad, baby whitewater clams, sea scallop app and Janet's lobster and shrimp salad always good. Although recently had the Janet salad had only half as many shrimp as usual, hope it was just a mistake in the dinner rush.

Excellent establishment. The atmosphere is second to none you can eat on the beach or eat inside .The waiters and bartenders are excellent, friendly and knowledgeable about the products. I went to other restaurants during my visit in Florida, and no one could touch them. It was so good, I went twice. Oh did I mention live music. Awesome!!

You are paying for location. The food is okay. The service is iffy. They have a decent selection of $5 options for food during happy hour, but the portion sizes are all over the map. Their regular menu is just way over-priced for the quality, but, again, you cannot beat the location.

  • JD N.

This place is always consistent. We arrived early for our reservation but they sat us right away. I had the Ahi Tuna Salad which was great! The Server was a little slow and could of been more polished in his skills but that didn't take away from our experience. I think he just needs more time of the floor and some more coaching. I will be back...

Beautiful weather! :) love this place. My favorite drink here is the Jamaica 12 speed or 10 speed. Forgot the name but it is the best drink EVER! You definitely should try it. My favorite day to come here is on Sunday. They have a DJ during the day and a live band at night. It is mostly an older crowd but it is a great place by the beach to enjoy some drinks, food and music. During the week they have happy hour on a few drinks and also a menu for appetizers 1/2 off. The food is great. I love the lettuce wraps. The view of the beach is the best and the pier is there.

Ehh... Great location, great atmosphere, good service. Right on the beach in a prime spot so you know it's going to be a bit expensive for the area. The food was alright and the drinks were alright too. Not worth the price but remember that you're paying for the view of the ocean. Lots of food options and indoor/outdoor seating of course.

Great place to unwind on a sunday afternoon with live music and good drinks. They make a killer long island. Service was good the last couple times I was there. Cannot speak on the food as I have not eaten there. Definitely would go back for drinks and good atmosphere

In Boca Raton on business and needed a beach front dining experience. What a great combo of energy (live music at a level that allows conversation), good service, and excellent food. The local seafood options included swordfish and scallops which were delicious. The rack of ribs enjoyed by my co-worker were also impressive. The side dishes included a generous portion of perfectly prepared asparagus. The mojito (blackberry) was amazing.

I came here for lunch on the beach to end the 2011 year. The weather was gorgeous and the atmosphere here was amazing. We arrived to the restaurant, and pulled up to front for valet. The garages and other street parking were full. We went inside and they directed to the second hostess stand outside in order to get a table with ocean view. They told us it would be about a 30-minute wait and it was. Finally, we are seated and ready to place the orders. I ordered the spinach and artichoke dip to start and a Blueberry Fraise. The drink was awesome and so was the appetizer. For the entrée, I ordered the Thai Chicken Salad - hold the chicken. It was okay. There was barely any dressing on it. The waitress didn't come back for awhile, so I couldn't ask for more. We then asked about ordering a side of French fries with cheese. She said it was not on the menu, but she can have them make it anyway. She comes back with French fries and three slices of Kraft American cheese slices barely melted on the fries. (I asked for cheddar). She offered to take it back to the kitchen for them to melt it more. I told her it was fine because only so much you can really want with Kraft singles... Overall, the food was good. The service was egh. The waitress barely came back and she was slow with everything. I know it was busy there, but at least check on us. Then it took almost 45 minutes just to get the check.

A wonderful place to hang out with friends on the patio and people watch on the beach. The mediocre staff had the personality of a smiley face drawn on a brown paper bag. We had too many people come to our table to ask what we wanted to drink and what we wanted to order. It made the experience awkward! Food was OK at best. The beach scenery was more exciting then our dining experience. There are more places to choose from that's what we will do when we come back in the area next time!

  • Dave H.

Good chi: very inexpensive valet parking in an overcrowded beach town, very clean washrooms, roomy interior split level restaurant with bar and a large outdoor seating area with an outdoor (fully stocked) bar. Food was a mixed bag; some salads looked like total iceberg, and even the spring mix was bland, with browned wilted lettuce, etc. The fish & chips, on the other hand, was amazing, beer battered, huge, well cooked, fries were perfect, real potato slices. Drinks were also stupendously awesome...mangolicious. Service was top notch. For a spring break beach town, this was a nice find...view of the beach didn't hurt, of course.

  • Shaddo D.

Beach dining is awesome. Let's agree to that. The atmosphere and view can never be beaten. The problem with beach dining is it comes at a cost. The menu at JB's is relatively uninspiring and has the same stuff as every other place in South Florida. The only issue I have with that is the actual ripoff factor. $20 for fish and chips? Yes this fish is fresh and tasty but $20? A decent pub will get you that for significantly less. A shrimp dish was good but innocuous and a lobster tail for over $30 that was ok. If you want the ambience and don't want a ripoff go for a burger . Bang for buck is why the rating is what it is. As I couldn't do a half they were bumped down to 3.

    (3)
  • Jessica S.

Love JB's for drinks and to hang at the tiki bar... But I have to say the service sucks! We came with a group of 7, sat at the bar tables.... The table was dirty and it took 20 mins to get someone over to clean it. No waiter to take our orders for over a half hour! Finally when we placed our drink orders and had them delivered we were ready to order some food, the waitress took only half of our parties order and then disappeared for quite a while... Wth? Due to this the food came in drips and drabs and we weren't all able to eat at the same time. This used to be my fav spot and I really tried to give this place more credit but it doesn't deserve it for having such crappy service. On a brighter note it's a beautiful location right on the beach and they have live music which is a great plus. Oh and as far as food goes the burger was actually really good, I would order it again if I did return.

  • Olivia P.

The food was pretty good, but not "great". The service was excellent and recommendation of the swordfish special was awesome. I was disappointed in my two mixed drinks, which were watered down enough that I asked if the ($8) first was a virgin drink. The second ($9) was a pineapple drink and had so many large pieces of pulp that I couldn't even finish it.

This was my second time dinning here with my Fam for Easter Brunch, Deerfield is pretty far from where she stay but it's worth the drive. The food, the ppl, the ambience is all so awesome! The first time we came we were seated inside and there was a live band playing outside that I really didn't care for, the music wasn't to my liking. The second time around we had outdoor reservations and the band wasn't there for some reason and I must say that I really didn't miss them Lol. Outside seating is way better than the inside, inside I felt claustrophobic and crowed. Outside was a whole differ story. From the weather, the ppl on the beach, and the ocean view. We had a great time, I don't recall the name of out waitress but she was a sweetheart! She was very accommodating, we sent two drinks back that we didn't care for and she wasn't bothered by that all. The food, I give it a TWO THUMBS up, although they don't have much of a selection, I think they need to expand their menu. I had the "Ham Chops" I must say it was awesome, cooked to perfection :) We also had Cocoanut Shrimp as an appetizer, which we also enjoyed...We will for sure return for a 3rd and 4th time!

  • Jennifer P.

Very nice dinner right on the beach. The only drawback was the band was REALLY loud during the dinner hour but we asked to be seated outside and thats where the band was. The food was good. The ahi tuna appetizer was just ok but my dinner, a "lighter" fare pasta with shrimp and vegetables was delicious even though the amount of oil on it , I hardly think it was much lighter ...just not cream added. Good mojitos and great people watching.

We visited JB'S this Sunday afternoon and chose immediate indoor seating since it was a half hour wait for outdoor and the only reason they don't get 5 stars is the temperature inside was a bit warm. Food and service were excellent! Luis was very attentive and made great recommendations since it was our first time. I got the Lobster and shrimp salad and it was awesome. My wife had the Turkey sandwich on toasted multi grain and it was delicious (I took a bite and had to go back for a second and third)! My son gave their kids chicken fingers and fries a thumbs up and 9 out of 10. $8.50 for a Martini is far from outrageous in south Florida. The ambience is very beachy and nice. The live band outside was pretty good too! And being on the beach with reasonably priced valet parking, we will definitely be back. .. often.

Excellent service! We started as a party of 8 and little by little grew to be 20. The waiter was unbelievably accommodating. They brought out extra chairs and tables as we grew and found a way to fit them into their busy restaurant. Since we were a large party, he even started us off with separate checks without us asking. He didn't miss any orders even though we ordered more and more as people joined the party. The food is very good..... overpriced....but the atmosphere makes it all worthwhile. They have live music in the evening, at least on Friday night. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food, especially the crab cakes. If you go with a large party, they include the tip even if you have separate checks. We will definitely return.

I had the worst experience I ever had last night at JBs and I am considering never going back. My friend and I go in after going to the beach and sit down at a table... We were told we could not sit there by a waitress with dark hair. We moved to another... Told by the same girl to move... To look behind us to see people sitting at the table and getting served... Hmm. Guess we weren't good enough to sit there. Then we find a table next to the stairs.. To get a waitress named Linda... Even bigger mistake. She was so rude, unfriendly. She made no eye contact with me. She never gave us menus. I found 2. Took my friends order, never asked me if I wanted anything... Nice... Guess I wasn't to eat all night... Brought my friend water not me... Haha... She should be fired!!!! I asked for my bill and just laid it on the table... Never said ' have a nice evening ... Thank u... Nothing... Wow!!!' and she passed by our table about 40 times thru the night... She never asked if we wanted anything else...please get rid of her!!!! She is horrible and made the experience horrendous!!!

Ok so here is the thing! Great Great location! Can't beat it - ON THE BEACH!!! You want LOUD THIS IS THE PLACE!!! Food VERY GOOD! Just way way way tooooo loud!!! The band playing on the outside literally reverberates inside! Not my thing though may be yours!!

  • Will B.

Jb's is a fun place on the beach with a slightly older crowd shak'n it to a band out on the patio. The food is average in my opinion, not outstanding but certainly edible and satisfying. The service inside I have to say was great. Maybe I would return if I happened to be in the area.

Love the location and the live entertainment but.....food is so unpredictable we ordered a flatbread it was mush, sent it back got another one still mush sent that back and ordered the wedge salad. A wedge salad to me is with blue cheese and blue cheese dressing their wedge is made with feta and French dressing.....never bother to read the rest only saw wedge and said I'll have it. Weird combo for a wedge. Then we ordered the bacon scallops that come in a fancy clam shell, it was a piece of scallop in a soupy sauce....sent it back! This is not something we do most times we get what we ordered at other establishments, but this was bad food. asked to speak to the manager who spoke to us from across the bar instead of coming over to where we were sitting and she had an attitude. Very unprofessional. So we were hungry but done. Drinks were good and the Sunday night band was awesome, but as far as the food.....not so good!

If you haven't read Anthony's Bourdain rant in his book, Kitchen Confidential, you should. JB's brunch is everything that Bourdain detests. If it were not for the spectacular views on the patio, JB's would get one star. We went there for brunch yesterday and snagged a great table overlooking the sand and surf. The brunch selections sounded great. I had a Thai chicken wrap and my husband ordered the queso benedict. However, he was disappointed to find that the English muffin tasted as if had been toasted yesterday. The pototoes were soft and soggy. The eggs were poached correctly, though. The "complimentary" mimosa was awful. We were with another couple and we all left full glasses of an overly acidic mimosa. To our waiter's credit, he was very nice and brought over a complimentary glass of orange juice. I have been to JB's before, but only for drinks. Next time my husband and I go, it will also only be for drinks and the beautiful setting. Bottom line...skip the food, especially at brunch.

Many years ago this place was fantastic. It is now a tourist trap. The fish is not fresh and most items are re-heated then served. If the prices reflected the quality I would not be as critical, but this place charges $27 for soggiest mahi that ever was. Go to the whales rib or even a McCormick and Schmick...you will get a better meal. The view is great if you sit outside Our last experience was this-I sliced my finger on a stone crb bc it wasn't fully cracked and they didn't offer a hammer. They were gracious about getting me a band aid. Then, they had to take my toddler's high chair for another family who had to have that one and by the time they were done my son and husband had to leave the table because he was "all done" at that point. When I spoke with a manager she was pretty much like "too bad so sad", we're busy and quit wasting my time.

Dine by the sand at this nice spot on Deerfield Beach. Live music, a variety of American fare and seafood on a menu that will please everyone's palate plus friendly service and an expansive patio with a pier view equals a four star dining experience. I have rated it three stars because menu is ordinary and not extraordinary, yet it is a nice place with enjoyable food for families with children and to grab a bite with friends or family visiting from out of town. Note there's very little, if any, self/metered parking available so valeting is your best bet. If you haven't been here before, give it a try.

TOTAL LET-DOWN! Scallops looked good, not much food. Ordered Mariscos Seafood Stew $25 and all you get is a couple of mussels the size of a pea, clams that are hard to see, let alone taste, and a strip of fish that looked like bait! Waiter's Response when I'd replied? You were one out of 30 who complained. That's because I was the only one out of 30 who voiced their opinion. Oh yeah, besides the ripoff entree, the keylime pie had no flavor. Place royally sucked. I get better seafood in AZ

Hmmm! went there for lunch, great location and service, but the food?! NOT GOOD at all! I ordered Mozzarella and tomato salad and the fish tacos, the salad was swimming in dressing I could only eat a couple of bites, and the tacos were extremely salty, with that said, I think its a great location for tourists or to have a drink, but not to eat.

Awesome people watching and fantastic services start with. Then we salt in some good live music and finish with great food. Highly recommended. Stone crabs are good and a good burger too.

My daughter and I were in town visiting my mother. I told her that I'd love to go to a restaurant overlooking the ocean so she brought us here. We got seating outside overlooking the ocean which was very nice...and then it went downhill from there. My 10 year old daughter ordered grilled chicken and the chicken was as dry as could be. I ordered a baby back ribs and crab legs combo. That was a mistake...the ribs were dry and lacked any good bbq flavor and the waiter forgot to bring out the crab-leg tool and by the time i went and found someone and told them and the time, which was too long still from that point, my crab legs were cold. I attempted to eat them anyway and of the very little crab-leg meat that i did get out it didn't taste good. I would say it was probably the worst meal i've ever eaten at a restaurant. Now my mom ordered a salad with 1/2 a lobster on top. She complained that the lobster was way smaller than she had had at her previous visit and sent it back. They apologized and made her a new one....which took about 25 minutes to get back to her which at that point of course we were all finished. One bright spot was the steak my mom's BF got. He said it was very good. The manager did comp my mom's meal and also took another $20 off of the bill so at least they tried to compensate in some way but I would never go back for the food, i would go there for drinks though as the view was very nice.

After my review in saturday from last year, i decided to go on sunday for easter since it was a gorgeous day out. View is still amazing and service is spectacular but the actual taste of food was not quite up there. We ordered for appetizers the coconut shrimp which were big and flavorful with an orange chili dipping sauce which was great, but i ordered the burger with bacon and egg and it was okay. My husband on the other hand ordered the queso benedict and he said it was nothing special, just plain jane on the taste. He would not order again. Definitely will be going back but hopefully the taste on the menu will be better.

Struggling to like this place...very difficult when you're still not seated an hour after your reservation on a Wednesday night. Eric the Manager was helpful...ultimately...but still aggravating. Food very good and the wait staff was solid. Decent prices but still not happy overall. I'll give it another shot once my aggravation subsides.

A pleasant, beachside retaurant with a modest selection of seafood. As with most of these places, you are paying a premium for the location and atmosphere. To be fair, however, the portions of seafood were actually pretty good, with even the mahi mahi sandwich sporting a nice, thicker-than-usual-for-a-sandwich cut. We had the crab cakes and calamari as apps, and they were about average. Our server was especially friendly and helpful. Everyone here seemed pretty nice, actually. There was a magician named John on the premises who would come by the tables from time to time to perform some clever card tricks. Nice touch! He was obviously a hit with the patrons here, including our table. JB's is certainly a nice place to grab a drink and some food and enjoy a beach side view. Try to stay away from the overly-loud cover bands, unless you're into that sort of thing.

My wife was transferred to Fort Lauderdale FL from Los Angeles 2 years ago. Her new boss took us to JBs commenting that it was a favorite restaurant of hers. I had the Mahi Mahi which was quite fresh and delicious and the wait staff was very helpful in my substituting healthy alternatives as is customary in many Los Angeles establishments. We've been back a couple times since but the prognosis is mixed with complications for me. Though JBs has some positive attributes it is lacking in some other areas. Yes JBs is practically on the beach but certain times of the year, okay most times of the year humidity rains down so your outdoor dining experience is one of heat. The inside dining room as with most south FL restaurants is rather plain and though the prices are fair they warrant a better ambiance in my opinion. If you enjoy sugary beach drinks there is an outdoor bar in the outdoor dining area specializing in such concoctions. There is also usually acoustic music outdoors which I've found pleasant though nothing special. Though I'm glad for the fresh fish entree which is usually Mahi Mahi and has consistently been excellent, if you make other selections on the menu they are for the most part not healthy nor anything special. As with most other local restaurants they offer no whole grain breads or rolls either. Eyeing other folks meals the burgers look bland and there's lots of fried items. A foodie spot this restaurant is not. It's like having dinner in a high priced sports bar. First time we arrived I pulled in behind a late model Porche and as I handed my keys to the valet and walked up the stairs I thought I might be underdressed. Once inside I realized that was not the case. Sandals or flip flops are fine at JBs. So if you're looking to party at the beach JBs is decent choice. This eatery is no "hipster haunt" or 5 star Bistro. It's like 2 stars and plain BUT prices are fair and the staff are attentive and helpful so I'm giving it 3 stars. The Mahi Mahi has always been fresh the 3-4 times we've eaten there. I personally wouldn't order anything else on the menu.

I've been to JB's a few times but only on Sundays. If you didn't know, on Sunday nights, JB's has a live band and DJ where everyone comes to gather and drink and dance. I like the idea of there being a place to go out and party on the beach on Sunday night. It's kind of like a last hurrah before you start your work week. JB's is a pretty nice place. I believe it's primarily a restaurant but turns into a hopping pseudo-club on Sunday nights. There's a live band for the first part of the night and after they leave a DJ takes over. It's a very eclectic crowd.. people ranging from their mid 20s to 60s. I love that because you get to meet people and hear such a wide range of stories from people. The drinks are okay and the prices for them are okay too. It's nice that they have an outside area that looks right onto the beach as well as their indoor area. I think I would like it more if there was more free space. I feel like I'm dancing amid tables where people are eating dinner making it awkward. Overall, I like this place I just wish the layout was better and more inviting and I wish the parking was better.

Thank you to JBs for moving us outside for my mother's birthday party. They messed up the reservation, but made every effort to make us happy and comfortable. The wait staff was excellent! We have a beautiful family photo for the holidays now.

This is really a 3-4 star restaurant. The food is good , the location on the beach is waay above average and the service by our waiter Richard was excellent. Honestly the biggest problem they have is being in Deerfield where you have to worry about the meters, and in fact can't park on the street after 12:00 midnight. That is the main reason we don't come to the restaurants in Deerfield more than once or twice a year. JB's is a very comfortable place in an awesome location to hang and have some cocktails or a craft beer but it's pretty much empty late evening, my guess is because of the parking restrictions. As a matter of fact it seems like all of the restaurants are in the same boat here. Head to Delray, no meters, parking everywhere and all night, much more conducive to hanging out without having to worry about the time. But if you do come here, ask for Richard, he'll take excellent care of you.

This place is great. When I had my hybrid I parked it in the ramp down the street as the Bentley's and Corvette's intimidated me as I strolled across the parking lot. The atmosphere here is fun. It's a little uppity but haven't run into any attitudes yet. From the restaurant inside and the upstairs bar inside you can still catch a gimmer of the ocean outside. There's also a hostess stand downstairs where you can make reservations to sit outside where the view of the ocean is amazing. There is also another bar downstairs in this dining area. I've been here at least 10-12 times in the last few months as the food is fabulous. My recommendation is the "Guinness Short Rib Mac & Cheese"....it's phenomenal! It's Mac and Cheese on the bottom PIPING HOT, with Guiness glazed short ribs above that, and then like crunchy bread crumbs or something on the top. I can't describe to you how amazing it is. It's a grown up version of mac and cheese. I've also had the spinach dip which is also great, and the cheeseburger and also have sampled the salmon steak. I have yet to have any complaints. The one thing that I can't stand, and this isn't just JB's but it's at a lot of restaurants in Florida, is the people in the bathrooms who sit there and expect a tip for handing you a paper towel. I can just wave my hand at a sensor and the machine hands me one! I don't get it. I can see at a real high-end place maybe but it's almost offensive to me to almost feel an obligation to pay a man for a towel. So I don't, I just walk by. I suppose if I was loaded I'd maybe tip them but I'd still get my own towel! Anyways, thanks for letting me rant a bit. Oh, wait. They also hand out mints in there for a tip. If you walk to the hostess stand there's a whole jar of mints FOR FREE! I don't get it. Back to JB's....there's usually live music at night and my recommendation would be to snazz up a little bit. I usually wear jeans and a Jimmy Buffett t-shirt and sometimes feel out of place but I always make sure to wear a watch that looks expensive so I fit in a little better. But on a serious note, the food is great and the staff is super-friendly. You should swing by if you haven't yet.

Very good seafood. We had our reservations on Sunday when the band is playing. The patio was crazy so we decided to dine indoors. The music was still loud enough that you had to shout. But it was an excellent band. We all ordered the seafood and it was very good . I had the Wahoo special and it was very fresh and very tasty. The only negative was that they never brought what looked like very good bread The price was reasonable for a beach location and the service was good. Overall a nice experience

Met some family here, ended up with a table of 7 people. Tons of room and nice location on the beach. Be aware that groups of 6 or more have the gratuity of 18% added automatically. That's the lowest # of people I've seen associated with an "auto tip". Had the Short rib mac and cheese, which was very good, also tried the coconut shrimp (a tad bland - I've had much, much better), the mahi mahi and a couple other entrees. The wait staff was sufficient, though they took some prompting to bring refills and the like.

You would think that a waiter would be aware of how little effort it takes to be friendly! The only time I saw our waiter smile was when he was busy flirting with a waitress! Service was slow. I had a mahi mahi sandwich that tasted fine, but it was very small. My husband had an ahi salad that had a few small pieces of ahi in it. How annoying to go to the ladies room without my handbag and get the evil eye because I was supposed to tip for my paper towel! Really, do they not know there are auto dispensers?! Get out of the 80's! We will never come back, that is for sure!

AMAZING! The Monte Cristo was THE best I've ever had. The huge sandwich and a Mimosa was only 14 dollars. For a beach front restaurant they could get $20 no problem. Speaking of which, my table was right on the beach. 10/10 for atmosphere 10/10 for taste 10/10 for value 10/10 for portion This is a mandatory spot if you have any inland friends/family visiting, will amaze them.

First, avoid the food here, it's terrible. All of it, as far as I have experienced (eating myself, and listening to people around me). JBs is in a great location, literally on the beach. Fantastic place for a drink, music every night of the week, and oftentimes good music. Their recent policy is to have bands only on the weekend and individuals during the week, but it's always good music. Just don't eat the food. Decoration is beautiful there, it is a really nice set up. Parking is valet only - Deerfield generally is tough to park. Service is pretty good, even at the bar, which is a zoo most of the time, and unfortunately allows smoking, which kills it. Did I mention the food?

They have a huge space both inside and outside. Lots of patio seating by the beach and by the bar and stage as well. They offer live music every night. They are literally located right by the beach with an awesome view of the pier. Seafood, live music, and waves splashing in the background is what you'll experience while you dine here. Their menu consists of mostly soups, salads, sandwiches, and entrees all seafood based. The caesar salad was a good portion topped with actual parmesan cheese shavings (which I thought was a +) and you could taste the freshness of the anchovies. The fish and chips were good -- massive piece of battered filet with a side of fries. The appetizer portion of the crabcakes were just OK otherwise forgettable. They have a small parking lot so you're best bet is to valet. It's $3 for valet service at the front of the restaurant. Overall great ambiance, mediocre food.

I recently visited JB's for the second time last weekend. Both times I went for brunch and sat outside. I love the atmosphere for brunch. Sitting outside on the patio and looking over the ocean and the pier is very relaxing. This place is affordable and the service is top notch compared to other places among Ft. Lauderdale and Miami. Be sure to order a mimosa if you have to wait. There is an outside bar and usually there is a live band or singer playing which lends to a vacation-like atmosphere. The sweet potato fries are fabulous, the eggs benedict is to die for and the crab cakes are amazing. I have nothing bad to say about this place. By the way, both times the staff over quoted the wait time so don't be discourage if they tell you to wait a while, it is probably not as long as they say. Be sure to take a stroll on the pier after you dine- it's only $1 and the view of the shore is beautiful.

Stopped by for lunch. Hostess was great an got us a table right away. Waiter came and took our drink order and returned. I was disappointed there was not any oyster meal on the menu, only on the half shell for the appetiser. I ode reed the coconut shrimp. Shrimp was fresh. French fries were a bit over done. Cole slaw was good but not great. Several dogs walked by on the boardwalk, on peeing near our table. The folks must be able to read the NO DOGS ON BOARDWALK sign. I don't blame the restaurant for the dogs. I rate service high, food average, view great!

We went for Sunday brunch, arriving about 11ish. Daily market fish sandwich blackened mahi mahi with aioli on a big fresh bun was excellent. Loads of String Fries were good. Lobster eggs benedict- poached eggs were perfectly cooked. The sauce was lighter than most, but I liked it that way. Not huge chunks of lobster, but it was evenly layered so you had lobster in every bite. The fresh red potatoes tasted so good they were probably deep fried, but they were not greasy at all so I couldn't be sure. Overall large portions and I couldn't finish my meal. One Free minimosa or champagne before 3 pm with anything on breakfast menu. Ambiance- can't beat the beach view! The outside dining has two vibes- the bar area with high top tables, and then along the other end, two rows of tables, which is perfect for families. Inside is clean, comfortable, nice decor. Total with one glass of wine and above $46, before tip. It was really nice and relaxing, and good food. Worth it for the overall experience. Service- The hostess tried to seat us along the wall, when there were multiple tables on the beach side. Why not offer your best seats to guests, or ask their preference? Our waiter was a bit of a dud (multiple little missteps where he walked away before we were done talking and other issues; seemed pretty distracted ) We decided maybe he'd had to much to drink the night watching football and gave him a pass. Valet- $5

Came in for an early dinner on a Friday and what an amazing outer deck to watch the sunset!!! Food was delicious, from the oysters, to the scallops and sesame seared tuna. The specials were all good and at very reasonable prices, considering the amount of food that was served. Our waiter, Josh, was very good, as well. I will definitely come back and bring my friends!!

As a vegetarian, this place is horrible. They have two options (minus a flatbread appetizer and expensive salads with meat)- a vegetable stacked sandwich, and a vegetable stack as an entree. This is the exact same thing, just one is more money, and the other has bread. The sandwich is 14 dollars. I expected this at a place like this, but the two times I have gotten this sandwich it was inedible with the bread. The vegetables are so small that you have an inch of bread around them. I have always just taken the it off and its fine, but I've never left there feeling full. The first time I ordered the sandwich I got fries, which were good, but fries are very hard to mess up. The second time, I tried to get a salad instead of the fries and they refused. She offered me broccoli, so I agreed to that. When I got the broccoli, it looked like they cut a third of a head and just steamed it. It was good, but for a place like this they could salt it, put some seasoning, or even cut it down for me?? It seems very rushed there. The veggie entree is 17, and its the same exact thing as the sandwich minus the bread and an elevated side-quinoa salad. Meh. On a side note- The desserts are really good. We tried a whole assortment and I didn't think any of them were bad. If you're not a vegetarian, this place is actually good. I don't think its worth the price but everyone I go with, who eats fish and meat, absolutely love it. So meat eaters disregard!

Let me first say that this place is a little pricey. $20 for Fish and Chips is just ridiculous to me. But after the dining experience, I can say the meal was well worth it. The serving size is huge! I can see why they have a plate sharing fee, because two people can have a complete meal from one plate. The fish was so delectable. The beer battered crust over the fish was so light. And the serving staff made you feel like you were the most important guest in the restaurant. I never had to look around to get our servers attention. Whenever I needed a refill or the check, he was there. The decor is beautiful. The view is perfect. The lighting really sets the mood. The waiting time wasn't too bad. Considering the place was jam packed. Get a reservation just in case. It's a popular place. And it should be.

Very nice place, building and location/scenery. Pricey. Only got 12 oysters, a scallop appetizer and 4 drinks for two people $90. Safe to say we took our main dining down the street to flannigans. However the couple things we got were excellent!

We wouldn't come back here again. There are so many better restaurant options near by. The valet parking is $5, which we didn't know or saw a clear sign for until after we parked and walked to the restaurant. The food is over priced for tourists. The menu doesn't have anything special and are limited. The worst part of our order was a Belgian waffle with bacon and berries for $10, amongst other entrees we ordered. The plate came with one Belgian waffle (the same round ones you find at free hotel continental breakfasts), one chopped up strawberry, a few blueberries and two pieces of over crisped bacon. There were no whipped cream, no butter.... nothing to make it look like it's worth the premium price. When we told our waiter how underwhelming the waffle entree was, he said he would check on it for us. When he finally came back 15 minute later, we were told "that's just how they come, maybe the kitchen could have plate it better." There was no sincere offer or gesture to make it right or us happy. With that pathetic amount of food on the plate, I can't imagine what better presentation could be like. Criss cross the bacon on top of the fruit for some extra height? I suggest you save your time and money for somewhere else.

Terrible waiter and worse breakfast. After I told the waiter that the eggs Benedict was awful and the Canadian bacon tasted like burnt rubber and was way over cooked. So, he offered to get me the menu to pick something else to eat. I said yes but then he asks me if I'm sure I wanted to because it will take another 20 minutes because we are busy (really felt the good customer service there ) I told him to just forgot about it and ate some of my girlfriends eggs instead. Then when the bill came he had the nerve to keep the eggs Benedict on the bill that I hardly touched. Needless to say I will never step foot in this place again.

Ok, so I blew this. I should have taken pictures of the food before I wrote this up. To late, so sad, I was busy making the Grouper dis-appear. :-) I am in town at Deerfield Beach FL. I have been at JB's several times and keep coming back. Why: 1. The staff, will bend over backwards to make sure your are taken care of. 2. The food. I have never had a bad meal. 3. The view of the Atlantic can't be beat. For the tonight I am at the bar with Stevie who was here the first two nights. I missed her last night and as I was leaving, Stevie stopped me and said Hi, sorry I missed you..... Now let me tell you, the whole team operates this way. :-) So I came back again tonight.... I travel alot, you might wonder what to order. Anything. You can't go wrong. JB's has a bar special (outside) for $5, taste great, live music which was great. If you are in the Deerfield Beach area, be sure to stop. You should plan a day here ending with JB's. I have had the Ahi tuna in the past. Outstanding. Enough said. stop in.... PS: I have read some of the other reviews that were not very nice. I have to wonder what the motivation was by the writers. Last point, the manager Scott stopped by checking in... Next day ribs. Full rack way too much. OUTSTANDING. Fell off the bone. To bad I couldn't finish the job.

JB'S is a 5 star....for what it is. Great food....great service...live music....full bar.....RIGHT ON THE BEACH!!!....with all of the favorites on the menu. So why not a 5 star? It's a beachfront great atmosphere.....good food hotspot. It's not a gourmet over-the-top fine cuisine establishment. But I'm not taking anything away from JB's.....one of my favorite places to relax.....A MUST TRY!! Valet parking right up front. This place gets BUSY....specially on the weekends. Get there early...and if you can....sit outside overlooking the beach...it's the way to go. Casual Resort-style attire.....Weekends in shorts (not under dressed though)...and nights a little dressier....but clean-cut S.Florida crowd. As you're waiting for your table....you can go outside on the boardwalk.....or get a drink or 2....or 3.... at the outside bar I always start out with oysters....a little bit of Tabasco and a cold drink. Seafood is usually my choice here. Everything is always prepared and served just right. Tuna....Salads....choices of fish...Burgers...fish and chips....I mean I can go on and on....American style menu...and it's all good. If you're in the mood for a great night out....not too dressy....but looking good....give JB'S a try....you might end up a regular....it's that good. Now back to my oysters and drink....in this paradise we call S. Florida.

Used to go here about 10 times a year now I won't step foot in there again. Went there last week for dinner on my first day of vacation. The waitress takes my credit card and loses it. 10 mins later she comes back and says she cant find it and asks if we're sure that we didnt do anything with it. Unreal. Not one member of management bothered coming by our table which we thought was lousy. 2 days later I get a call that they found it but they can't tell me where. Really? What a major inconvenience this was. See ya later JB's

I am not sure if I can explain to you how wonderful this place is. My fiance and I try to come here at least twice a month on Sundays. They have live music and a fantastic brunch. We either start here or end our Sunday Funday here. The staff is always friendly whether you are at the bar or at a table you'll get wonderful service. The food is always on point. We usually shoot for several apps but my Fiance swears by the monte cristo. It is quite the plate. I usually go for the skillet or the huevo rancheros. Both are wonderful. This is a great family place except on Sunday afternoons. It gets very busy with guests drinking and dancing. ;) Worth the visit!!!!

This was a great place. Good strong drinks but still easy to drink and full of flavor. Food was fantastic and service was great. I had the chicken with rice and beans and added shrimp which was a great choice. Everything had full flavor and very fresh. Great choice and would order again in a heart beat. The setting is to die for. Honestly beachside with a great view and nice breeze. This is what paradise should be like. Honestly you can't beat this place and anytime I'm in town this will be a go to spot.

Being a vegan, there was absolutely nothing for me to choose from here. I ended up ordering the regular salad and added avocado. Usually I don't have any trouble finding a menu item (that I usually have to modify) but there was literally nothing to choose from here. I really thought there would be too because I've heard good things about this place. I asked the waitress if there was any way they could add beans or something to the salad because it was really plain but she said they didn't have anything. If you're not concerned about what you're ordering and you just want to eat on the beach, then this is your place. Other than that, I wouldn't be back, I'll go next door where there are more options.Oh yeah, and the sweet potato fries seemed really old lol

Heads up -- I've only been on Sunday nights. This is my third time coming on a Sunday night. The environment is awesome if you're looking for a good time. The band/DJ are awesome. They Keep the energy going for sure... The food is really not good at all. So don't go there for that reason. The drinks are great though :)

The good, the bad and the tasty.... The Good: This place has a cool location, good vibe, good service (except for the out side bar). That is not meant as a slam, but they are overwhelemed. Get someone else out there. Two girls serving 80 people is unfair to everyone. The Bad: The guy who sings on the deck is brutal...he is so loud you can not hear yourself think. He may very well be talented, but the fact that he blasts it at you makes it hard to tell. The volume of the music when he is not playing is perfect. You can hear and enjoy the music, but still interact with friends. The Tasty: We got a bunch of apps: Guacamole (top notch), Edemame, pretty good, coconut shirmp, fantastic; Bocci Balls, outstanding and surprisingly great. Calamiar, really, really good but bland marinara. I wish it had a zingier sauce. Same holds for the smoked Bacon mac and cheese..the cheese needs to have some more bight. I really want to try some of the main courses because the apps were really good. The drinks were fantastic! Ditch the nutmeg on that one cocktail, though.

I checked in with low expectations after reading several reviews. After my $5 off coupon for any Bacardi beverage for checking into yelp, I started really liking this place. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I was pleasantly surprised by the Mariscos and my wife's Ahi tuna salad. The kiddos also enjoyed very generous and tasty kids meals. Overall what won me over was the location. You are right on the beach breathing in fresh ocean air. I loved it. I topped it all off with a coconut banana cream pie and candy store coffee... Try it, you'll love it.

Solid restaurant in Deerfield Beach...by da beach. We came for a family dinner. It's one of the ubiquitous beach restaurants that people from the North probably take for granted less often than the locals. It was also big, bright, and loud, similar to many places in the Keys. Portions were huge, prices were hefty, but service was friendly and unassailable. My swordfish special was OK, but not as good as I had hoped (I think I had one great experience with swordfish, and I've been chasing that unattainable high ever since). Our appetizers were a tasty assortment of bocce balls (pesto-breaded mozzarella), crab-crusted scallops, and Sonoma flatbread. My favorite part, though, was the Jaws-sized portion of Sharkfin Pie: vanilla fudge ice cream, peanut butter, honey-roasted peanuts and an oreo cookie crust, with fudge sauce. It was in the ballpark of a Serendipity dessert. We shared it so maybe it was sized that way on purpose since all but one person didn't order dessert. 3.5 stars but that pie!

Really GREAT! Our server amanda was wonderful. We strated off with a 1/2 doz raw oysters..they were fantastic and fresh!! I had the Ahi Tuna with mesculine greens and avocado and mango salsa...it was so good! My neighbor had pecan encrusted mahi(i tried a bite and it was very delicious also)...we had the hot apple and ice cream desert...it was also to die for! Funny thing at the end when we were waiting for his car I said to the valet "I'm single and hes married and his wife is out of town." got a big laugh at the valet station...it was true though ..lol..I have great neighbors! We'll be back...maybe with his wife next time ;)

WOW, I did not realize we haven't been here in 9 NINE years! Well, we had a small family gathering a few evenings ago...the restaurant has been completely re modeled...nice job,,,it is supposed to appear "underwater". Since it is the "cusp" of "season" here in south FL it was still crowded. As some one said, it's not "fine dining" (that ship has sailed for all of FL, there just are not any more of these kind of restaurants left), having said that everything we had, that I tasted was very good. The ribs were excellent, unfortunately they opt not to have baked potatoes... who serves ribs with out baked potato....oh well.. Still 4 stars...I guess I'm a curmudgeon with my stars....

I had never been to JB's and decided it was time to check it out. I took a group of about 15 on a Sunday Nite. Why Sunday? All reports was that this was the most popular day. And a great live Raggae Band playing all nite. What I found was that this place was all over the map. You got the young bikinis walkin along the outside, and the 60 somethings inhabiting the inside. For entertainment, there was that Raggae Band outside jamming on the stage. It was like no Raggae I have ever heard. I am not a Raggae specialist, but the beat seemed a bit off albeit entertaining nonetheless. On the inside, around 10pm, a DJ played hip hop and party goers of all ages hipped and hopped. Like I said all over the map. Something for everyone one could argue. But none of it was a must see or must do. Even the food was just ok. Luckily, I was entertained by a fantastic group of people. And for that reason alone I will always remember JB's. It was just one nite and perhaps I need to check it out again one day. But for my first visit, I was a bit underwhelmed.

The food was just ok, a little overpriced in my opinion. Your pretty much paying for the ambiance. I had the burger which was not that good but we had a few different appetizers which i really liked. I really did enjoy sitting outside looking out at the ocean. The service was ok, we had a little problem with our order and the manager was rude. I would give this place $$$ instead of $$

Nice view, good service, decent food but you are paying for the water view. Beach restaurants. Often times when you go it is with low expectations of sub par and overpriced food. Although the food is certainly not sub par, it is the type of place that I would not return but for the view. I ordered their $13 cheeseburger with side of fries. Now the burger, is a large patty, but the burger, along with fries tastes like it came out of the frozen food section. So why come here? The view and service both of which were very good. Also the free cinnamon bread is nice, but you have to ask for it. So overall, it is decent. If you want to show some out of town friends what Florida living is about, this probably a good place to start.

Came to JB's on the Beach for a group dinner while in Florida for business and it was a good stop on our trip. Since there were 7 of us a reservation was essential. We still had about a 20 minute wait once we got there but they were extremely busy so that was probably to be expected. The wait gave us some time to check out the great beach view. Once we were seated, it took our server a little while to get to us since the restaurant was so packed. It's definitely a place for groups and the noise level reflects that. A couple people ordered cocktails but said that some of the ones with juice were a little overly sweet. I ordered Coconut Shrimp for an appetizer. The portion was small, only 4 shrimp, but they were flavorful and had a good crunch on them. For dinner I went with the Ahi Tuna Salad and I really enjoyed it. The tuna was seared perfectly and the wonton strips added a nice texture. Service at JB's was decent. It was very busy so the service was on the slow side but the server was kind and knowledgable on the menu. Definitely make a reservation!

I've heard much about this spot. Not everything I expected. The drinks are OK and the food was OK as well. The band took an entire hour to set up and begin playing 15minutes after with only a two hours and minutes to play for the customers. The crab cakes and rice was OK, however the rice was not jasmine rice. The waiter, Josh was nice and kind. Hmmm...maybe the wrong day.

JB's food is spotty and very inconsistent They seem to believe they are the only restaurant to choose from Service is typically slow Host Andre is amazingly arrogant and rude. I will never go back to this restaurant.

It was just ok. Packed with tourists. Service was good...food was average. Best thing we had was the lobster pizza appetizer.

  • J T.

JB's does have a great location. Their menu is expensive, a burger will run you $13 or so. I had the Mac n' Cheese with lobster, which is a personal favorite of mine. It was a good portion of food and was tasty. They skimped a bit on the lobster, I prefer mine with some pretty decent sized chunks, but all in all it was a good meal. Parking was valet only for $3 although there seemed to be a lot just before the restaurant that was open to the public for free parking.

Giving them five stars for their fabulous, donated buffet to cancer survivors at todays Relay for Life at Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach. Everything was top notch! I am five years out from a BC diagnosis and this was my first relay. I couldn't believe the things they did for survivors!

Went there on a whim, since it was overlooking the beach, which is cool for restaurants to have a beach view. It was humid so we ended up eating inside the restaurant. The waiter acted like he was above us and would look at me and then turn away when I obviously needed something from him. The food was not very great and overpriced. I could have made the dish I had myself. Never going to this place again.

  • Marc W.

JB's On The Beach has the benefit of being right on the beach. The view is exquisite. The problem seems to be is that the restaurant uses this view as a reason to serve mediocre uninspired food. It seems the place is built on the philosophy that it is a tourist place so burn them and churn them. I would not recommend this restaurant, especially for locals, if you are looking for good food and service. If you want an incredible view and you care less about the food then this is the place to go.

Whenever I'm down in South Florida with my family, we always make sure to eat at JB's. The seafood is great, and the ambiance is nice too. Its a more upscale dining place but without a fancy dress code. I love coming to this restaurant -and I love a lot of their food. the only issue I have is that some of the dinner options can be overpriced. Overall its a good place to come and eat at every once in a while.

I couldn't agree with Mike D. more. Well done, sir. It is a decent place to hang out that has a great view of the beach, pier and people. I don't recommend the overpriced, less than average seafood. You're better off eating at the Whale's Rib for a 1/3 of the price and better food. Actually, aside from the view this place offers NOTHING. Skip.

This place is one of the places to go with friends, the ones you love..the one you love...or the one you think you love. Ocean view. Menu from greasy to healthier. Not bad, just nothing special. Longdrinks and live music. My 'carribean' in Florida. Bring good company, order food and/or drinks and have a nice conversation.

In an area with miles of beaches and intercoastal waterways, there are very few restaurants actually right on the beach. JBs is one of those rare few, and combines good, not great food with live entertainment and location, location, location. Menu is priced in the $15-30 range for entrees, but if you order a drink, count on it pushing it up at least 6 for beer, and $10 for well drinks, more for wine by the glass. Parking is valet required. You won't find much unless you like to hike. I've eaten there several times and the service is spotty. Management doesn't seem to care, as long as they keep thronging the doors. Reservations for parties of 6 or more are available, and highly recommended, as the place fills up in the evenings and they need to know that you're coming. It is a fun place to hang out and watch the sun set, or catch the surfers out by the pier, or talk a post lunch or dinner walk out on the pier and peer out at the bright blue water.

Stopped by on Memorial Day weekend and was pleasantly surprised. Drinks were good. Food was fine. Ordered half dozen oysters, lobster pizza, coconut shrimp, and seafood salad. All good. The salad had half a lobster, still in the shell. What a treat! Scoop out the meat then cull the rest from the innards. Great! (Would recommend dressing on side and also some more fruit in dressing itself.) All in all a fun experience. Live band, attentive staff, great Bloody Marys - served with shrimp, pickle, and celery. Two had me a bit floaty so...

It seems the biggest challenge I run into when yelping is trying to be original and creative as opposed to just agreeing with everyone. However, this one has no choice as I think the other reviewers have all said what I would have said, only better. The place and location are terrific. The bar service inside, Nick is the man, and our waitress, Fiona, were really good and everything you would hope for. The food was a little above average, but nothing that I would rave about. We had the flatbread app, two really tasty salads and then the Tuna sesame style with an asian dipping sauce. All of that was good, but there were two things in particular that weren't. The hostesses left a lot to be desired and that is one thing that always bothers me. Typically, your first interaction with a restaurant is the hostess stand, and it was hard not to get the impression that JB's has invested no time or money in those positions. It wasn't that they were bad, or particularly mean, they were just performing their job with about all of the enthusiasm of the people at the DMV. I had never been there before, so I wasn't aware that you had to go to the outside hostess to ask for an outside seat. But I didn't need to be treated like the tourist scum I am. The outside hostess was even less friendly. They both also said it would be a 90 min wait and we were sat in just about 30. I worked in the restaurant business for a long time and understand that things happen, but it felt to me like "90 min" wait time was almost more to get us to consider going somewhere else. The last negative which was covered more humorously by some of the other posters was in regards to the crowd. The Jersey Shore comments were particularly poignant on this Sunday night. I couldn't figure out if it was mainly locals or tourists, but it was definitely choadish. But, to each his own.

    (3)
  • Warren C.

The location is nice and the food is just passable for the price. However, the wait staff that I have had experience with on my couple of visits have ruined the entire evening. Perhaps better training would help but I don't think one needs to spend this kind of money and be treated as if you are a nuisance for wanting to order or for wanting more water. Very unprofessional staff.

This restaurant has an excellent location on the ocean and it was recommended by our hotel bell captain. We sat outside and had a great view of the ocean. The greek flatbread appetizer was very good except i had to ask the server what the hard uncooked green slices were all over it. We pulled them off because they were tough and hard to eat. He said that it was asparagus. I told him that in Tennessee, we threw away that part of the asparagus. :) He did not comment. My grilled fish sandwich was excellent . My daughter's chicken sandwich was awful. It was very thick for a sandwich and very bland. Our server was snooty but provided good service. As always, I had to ask myself, would I make a special trip to come back and the answer is yes... only to watch the surfers and people play volleyball and to gaze out at the ocean. Maybe just for drinks and desert.

    (4)

There's live bands playing every Sunday night. They have an excellent crowd ! YOu can also sit and eat inside. Valet is available if not here's parking all throughout the street .

    (3)

Live music , good drinks. We had simple burgers. Probably not the best choice for an oceanside venue. Service was good.

Valet- $5

The calamari was like cardboard. Fish tacos were lacking flavour and burger was ok. Key lime pie was very nice. The view and service was great. I'd stop here for a drink but probably a good idea to eat elsewhere.

Had a great happy hour here Thursday last week. Awesome little happy hour menu. Had the burger and scallops and they were delicious! Scallops were super tender and were in a delicious sauce. Great little vibe in the inside bar and prices were pretty decent. Happy Hour was only till 7pm.

Very nice place, building and location/scenery. Pricey. Only got 12 oysters, a scallop appetizer and 4 drinks for two people $90. Safe to say we took our main dining down the street to flannigans. However the couple things we got were excellent!

Florida.

There's a $5 valet fee which is worth it bc there's no where to park bc of narrow roads. Great lunch location bc near beach. Looks to be a local hangout for the area.

Great view and its on the beach We were told by friends that the view is good and food not so good We found the food is very good and beach view outstanding. Bartenders are very good also. It is a beach crowd not the country club type. But all nice people as we saw.

Awesome people watching and fantastic services start with. Then we salt in some good live music and finish with great food. Highly recommended. Stone crabs are good and a good burger too.

Food was delicious! I recommend the tuna salad and the macadamia encrusted tilapia. Yumm! Service was average. We were disappointed that they wouldn't offer happy hour specials at our table. (Bar only)

It shows.

This is my go to place for out of town guests. I think it it the quintessential south florida restaurant. Right on the beach, creative food (although, it is nothing awesome, but it is consistent) Love the live music and the service is always great

Tables almost on the beach. Nice atmosphere. A friend raved about this place and took me. Food was cecent. I loved my strawberry margarita. I had a sandwich and fries. We went there with the family and sat outside. The view from the back patio is very nice and I guess that is what you are paying for. The menu is very limited and over priced. Service is mediocre. I would not go back and not recommend to friends.

  • Tara S.

Skip.

Had the Miso Salmon after Sesame Tuna Sashimi...music was atrocious, but atmosphere, food and service was great!
